Illumine Ltd, the Windsor-based training consultancy, is conducting an online survey into Mind Mapping, the advanced thinking and learning technique developed by Tony Buzan.   The company’s survey asks users their opinions of Mind Mapping.  Its preliminary results indicate that the technique is a highly valued tool that can bring order out of chaos and can open up a wealth of new business opportunities.

 Mind Mapping is designed to improve the use of the brain by maximising concentration and thought organisation.  It can be used for a host of business applications, including the analysis and solution of problems; the formulation of business strategies; and as a business presentation tool. 

 Illumine’s survey shows that users believe that one of the prime strengths of Mind Mapping is that it stimulates creativity by highlighting connections between related ideas and by opening up new ideas.  It is also seen as a very useful tool for structuring chaotic data, leading to enhanced productivity.  Users felt that the technique improves organisation by simplifying complex issues, and enhances decision-making through clearer thinking and better organisation.
