Illumine Training announces the findings of its Mind Mapping survey
Illumine Limited, the Windsor-based training consultancy, has been conducting an online survey into Mind Mapping, the advanced thinking and learning technique developed by Tony Buzan. The survey was launched to help give a better understanding of the popularity and uses of Mind Mapping. It gives a powerful insight into people’s perception of Mind Mapping, the way they actually Mind Map and how accessible Mind mapping software tools are.
Mind Mapping is designed to improve the use of the brain by maximising concentration through the organisation of thoughts. It can be used for a host of business and personal applications, including analysis and solution of problems; the formulation of business strategies; as a presentation tool; improving memory; and as an aid when studying.
Illumine’s survey shows that users believe that one of the prime strengths of Mind Mapping is that it stimulates creativity by highlighting connections between related ideas and by opening up new ideas. It is also seen as a very useful tool for structuring chaotic thoughts and data, leading to enhanced productivity. Users felt that the technique improves their organisation skills by simplifying complex issues, and enhances decision-making through clearer thinking and better organisation.
