Becoming a Mind Mapping Trainer
Illumine Training has been running highly successful courses since 1996 when Clive Lewis, co-founder and Director of Training at Illumine, undertook his accreditation for Mind Mapping, Speed Reading and Memory skills with the Buzan organisation.
Since then, he and his team of trainers have trained thousands of people all over the world, specialising in delivering management and personal development training enabling individuals and their organisations to effectively manage information overload and develop their creative thinking, problem solving and communication skills.
We are THE company that offers the highest quality Mind Mapping, innovative thinking and creativity training.
How can we make this claim?
Collectively we have more breadth and depth of experience in providing enjoyable and effective Mind Map training than anyone else. There are many individuals and organisations offering training in Mind Mapping and the majority of these no doubt believe they are doing a good job for their clients. However it has been our experience that when professional organisations want their people to learn how to use Mind Maps effectively, they come to us because they understand that Mind Maps CAN be very powerful and they want to be sure that the technique is taught properly by experienced practitioners and specialist trainers, so that their people DO gain the benefits of using the technique immediately.
Accreditation programmes are now available for Mind Mapping for Business and Mind Mapping for Education courses. The format for the Mind Mapping accreditation courses consists of a three stage programme designed to suit your needs:
Stage 1 - Attend the public (or in-house) workshop
Attend our one day course (Mind Mapping for Business or Mind Mapping for Education) to learn the principles of Mind Mapping and how to use Mind Maps® effectively yourself.

Stage 2 - 'Train the Trainer' Accreditation Course
This part is run as either a face to face workshop or a series of webinars - depending on the mix, geographical spread and numbers of people being trained. You will build on the things you learnt on the Mind Mapping course and your own experience of using Mind Maps, so that you will be able to train others to use and benefit from Mind Maps in a wide variety of situations.
During the course you can expect to cover the following: course content and flow; technique; using Mind Maps in different situations; combining with other techniques; understanding the 'laws' of Mind Mapping; common problems and pitfalls; coaching; brain theory and information; practicing delivery; matching content to the audience; Mind Mapping exercises; software or hand-drawn?; structuring courses; continuing the journey.
By the end of this stage you will be able to start to build your ability as a Mind Mapping trainer in preparation for the final stage:
Stage 3 - Certification - Proving Capability
To complete the accreditation process you will be required to prove your ability as a Mind Mapping trainer by arranging and running a course for a group of at least 6 people which the Master Trainer (or a designated senior trainer) will attend and assess.
