Test your Reading Speed with our Speed Reading Challenge

Hit 'Test Me' to read through the test (remember the clock is ticking). When you’ve finished, click the button to record your time and take the comprehension test which will ask you a few questions and then you'll be able to see your results.

All you need is a printer and a watch! Just print the text (View Pdf)... start your watch... read and then select 'Test Me' for the comprehension test.

Why take the challenge?

The Speed Reading Challenge allows you to check your own reading speed against a sample of over 3,000 individuals who measured their reading speed at the beginning of Illumine’s Effective Speed Reading course.

You will be contributing to the UK’s largest survey of the nation’s reading speeds. You will be able to get updates on the results of this survey by visiting the Illumine website.
