Work life balance is one of those phrases we all hear more and more often. Most people and the majority of employers, recognise that there needs to be a sustainable balance between the time (and energy) we spend at work and the time we spend at home. There is an understanding that when the balance is wrong, people become less and less effective, risking stress or burn out.

There will always be some things that are out of an individual’s control, particularly in the short term. But there will also always things that can be controlled or managed.   • The habits and behaviours that undermine balance.
  • The role of assertiveness.
